SoftAware was sold to Digital Island in 2000 for $450m. Dr. Fridlyand stayed leading corporate development efforts for Digital Island. Digital Island was sold in 2001 to 150 year old British company Cable & Wireless. For two more years Dr. Fridlyand led its global efforts in acquiring businesses in Professional Services\, Security and Storage that supplemented C&W data centers offering. \nDr. Fridlyand joined Soros Fund Management in 2005. He has been leading its private investments in Oil&Gas\, Insurance & Reinsurance\, Movies and IT  infrastructure. Most of the investments made by Dr. Fridlyand are in startups that are held in Soros’s ownership from 4 to 8 years. An average size of investment is about $100m. Ha dirigido sus inversiones privadas en petróleo y gas\, seguros y reaseguros\, cine e infraestructura de TI. La mayoría de las inversiones realizadas por el Dr. Fridly y están en nuevas empresas que se mantienen en propiedad de Soros de 4 a 8 años. Un tamaño promedio de inversión es de aproximadamente $ 100 millones. El Dr. Fridly  a menudo preside auditorías\, compensaciones y otros comités de la Junta.
